Newsflash 2 – Entrants Information

Only a week after announcing the race details, we have six yachts booked for the return trip to Cape Town on the mailship, RMS St Helena and we have a list of 31 confirmed or interested owners. Berths for yachts and passengers on the RMS are being taken up rapidly, so it looks as though this will be another great race to the little Island, considered to be the remotest on the planet.


To get things going, I need to start gathering information.

Governor’s Cup 2012 Race Is On

Exotic, remote; an island paradise with warm, friendly, hospitable islanders – and only ten* downwind summer sailing days away! Stop dreaming sailors, get moving – the 2012 Governor’s Cup is nearly on us! This 1,700 mile bi-annual international yacht race from Simon’s Town to Jamestown on St Helena Island will start on 22 December 2012.

Governor’s Cup 2012 preparations begin

False Bay Yacht Club, November 2011. The Governor’s Cup committee have set the first meeting for deciding when to open the race for entrants.

There is tremendous interest from past entrants and this race promises to be even more exciting with great events planned before the actual race.
